InfoTimes is pleased to announce the launch of its full scholarship program to attend the Data Journalism Diploma, in cooperation with the Canadian Embassy in Cairo.
The scholarship will be granted to four journalism and mass communication university students who are preferably in their third or fourth year. The students must be attending either public or private universities in Egypt and show a keen interest in pursuing data journalism as their career.
As a regional pioneer in the field of data journalism, InfoTimes’ scholarship aims to give new-bred journalism students the opportunity to develop their skill sets in data-driven reporting.
The first three weeks of the course are scheduled for theoretical lectures and practical exercises. Moreover, the final week is a mentorship week to assist students in completing their graduation projects. These projects will be supervised by a group of international reporters and data journalism specialists.
This scholarship is in partnership with the Canadian Embassy in Cairo, who is keen on continuously supporting InfoTimes’ training program as it believes in the importance of developing data-navigation skills and data-literacy amongst the youth in the region.
