Over the next 45 years, the number of Muslims in the world will go up, from 1.75 billion to 2.99 billion, making it the fastest growing religion in the world.
This means the number of Christians and Muslims will be almost equal. as Christians are estimated to increase by 770 million. The number of Christians will exceed the number of Muslims by only 1% in 2060.
PEW Research Center expects the religiously unaffiliated global population will decline by 2% in 2060, Buddhists will also decrease by 2%, while the percentage of Jews will remain almost the same, increasing by 20 million.
